Inspired by the art scene at Goldsmiths, Etan Ilfeld opened Tenderpixel Gallery in September of 2007 as a platform to exhibit emerging artists in central London. Ilfeld's fellow Goldsmiths MA Graduates Sunshine Frere and Jessica Farnham assist in managing and curating the gallery.
Since its inception, Tenderpixel gallery has been building a reputation as a platform for cutting-edge contemporary art. From its inaugural exhibition featuring Hannah Westwood's pencil mural, Transient Territory, which is still invisibly archived behind the white plaster walls, to Sungyeon Park's super sized breathing apple, the gallery has championed innovation throughout its programming. During the latter part of the year, Tenderpixel also moved into the realm of interdisciplinary art, hosting a component of Rushes Soho Shorts Festival as well as Tenderpix -a week of film and performance commissioned by the gallery.
Tenderpixel is committed to risk taking, keeping its audience guessing and most importantly, supporting emerging talent. Collectors, Enthusiasts, Press Officers and Artists - WATCH THIS SPACE - This gallery plans on tenderly pixifying every last one of you!
