TENDERPIXEL PRESENTS: TENDERPIX AN INTERDISCIPLINARY WEEK OF EVENTS AND SCREENINGS
As a featured venue for Rushes Soho Shorts this year, Tenderpixel Gallery is delighted to be
previewing Rushes nominees and winners, as well as their own 'Tenderpix' -a stellar series of
experimental film and shorts that were selected by Tenderpixel's very own judging panels. The
gallery is pleased to also present live-performance from several different artists on the evenings of
the 26th and the 31st.
Also on exhibition during the weeklong festival is a commissioned installation in the gallery. Artist
Nicko Straniero has converted the gallery's 'blank canvas' white-walls into a colorful and multipatterned
exhibition space. Straniero's Protoplastic Accumulation installation promises the eye a
visual feast, an installation pregnant with a multitude design and ornamental motifs, not to mention
dynamic movement.
FEATURED EVENTS DURING RUSHES AND TENDERPIX INCLUDE
JULY 26th 4PM to PRESENTATION, Q&A / SMALL SCREENING (FOYLES Bookstore -Charing Cross Road)
Artist Nicko Straniero will be presenting and discussing his most recent work on exhibition
at Tenderpixel Gallery, the PHOTOTOXINS Series, as well as, the PROTOPLASTIC
ACCUMULATION installation. Also presented at Foyles Bookstore will be a short
experimental film created by artist Mandeep Ahira. Artist Julien Ottavi will also be performing CAN_U_LARS -a computerized
audio derive in and around Cecil Court. (2-6pm)
JULY 26th, 6 to 9PM - TENDERPIX SHORT FILM SCREENING & PRIVATE VIEW
This is an opportunity to view the Short films selected by Tenderpixel's judging panel, as
well as take in the PROTOPLASTIC ACCUMULATIONS installation created by Nicko
Straniero. Mandeep Ahira's experimental film will also be previewed. Programs of the
selected films will be available at the gallery on the evening of the 26th.
AUGUST 1ST RUSHES SOHO SHORTS FESTIVAL PROGRAMME
In addition to the Tenderpix Experimental & Shorts selected films, Tenderpixel will preview
all of the Rushes Shorts nominees in animation, newcomer, short, documentary and
much much more daily. Pop into the gallery, have a seat and enjoy the show!
