What is the Language of Interaction?

How do we communicate the feelings associated with our actions, and how are their subtleties decoded? Gestures not only express an idea or meaning but also describe the body’s relationship to the outside world’s objects and circumstances. We live in an accelerated, transitive phase; our basic methods of engagement are charged with translating still-developing languages that actively resist physical definition. Movements and theatrical gestures are copied, modified and imbued with fresh connotations in the process of constructing this language. The signs, each carrying individual significance, take on a new rhythm.

In this exhibition series, studies in ergonomics, digital avatars and critical analysis of national iconography are employed as tools to translate common sensibilities. These languages –verbal, musical, choreographic –are perpetually evolving due to conflicts between the virtual and physical body as a result of technological or societal change.
